"URBANITAS" takes great pride in the authenticity of its costumes, which are created exclusively by local craftsmen, woven and hand embroidered, realized from start to finish by the crochet hook, reproducing as they do most faithfully patterns and prototypes dating back to the beginning of the 19th century.
The choreographic effect of the costumes is guaranteed by the vivaciousness and variety of the colors, and enhanced noticeably by fired-clay pitchers hand painted in conformîty with typical local style carried by the dancers both on their heros and in therir hands.
Two types of costumes are currently used, the first being in a rather plain style, without frills, formerly worn on work days, whereas the other type, more ornate and elaborate, was worn on feast days and at wedding celebrations.
